Summit Anchor

The Summit is Stonehill College's student-run newspaper. It was established in 1949, making it one of the oldest clubs on campus. As part of my Journalism minor requirements, I took Journalism Practicum (JRN 421) my junior year, Spring 2021. Every week I would brainstorm story ideas, go out on campus to talk to students and faculty, and draft up a story to potentially be posted on the Summit blog or in one of the three print paper editions during the semester! Through this practical class and by reporting I've gained confidence in my people and writing skills. By the end of the semester, I had gotten the hang of the whole being a journalist and was asked to be the section News Editor for my senior year! I love my new role in which I meet with the other editors every Tuesday night, once a month for layout night in which we use Adobe InDesign to plot out the stories, photos, and advertisements! Take a look at some of the stories I've written below!
